Abstract
Due to the lack of reliable methods to determine the conditions of the pipes buried-in-the-ground, the analysis of the crack history was performed in order to offer an alternative method for planning the pipe condition inspections and the system refurbishment. The results of analysis have shown that the oldest pipes of big diameter, mounted in a non-inspectable channels, loam, silt loam or sandy loam soil fall under the category of pipes with the highest accident rate.
