Smart Induction Drive

Donatas Uznys

Abstract

The article focuses on the induction drive with a fuzzy controller. This controller adopts direct torque control. It aims to halve pulsations of electromagnetic torque and stator current. The author introduces the basics of direct torque control as well as principles of fuzzy controller development and computer model of smart induction drive. Simulation results were compared to results of traditional direct torque control computer model. The use of fuzzy controller achieved two-times lower pulsations of torque, stator current and flux, plus lowered maximum overshoots.
