Unemployed Possibilities of Unrealized Projects

Darius Linartas

Abstract

It should be stated that the amount of projects developed or even prepared for construction but unrealized due to one or another reason is continuously growing. In the practice of architectural competitions, the number of such “dead” projects is especially great. It is both an outcome of unrealized or unsuccessful competitions and a natural factor in competitive contests of ideas where only one winner is selected. Do always, however, the unrealized mean unnecessary? For development of any architectural project, considerable material, professional and intellectual resources are concentrated. This is just one attitude demonstrating that it would be irrational not to look for purposes and ways enabling to employ such projects. Unrealized projects offer an unemployed complex of professionally stated ideas and solutions where potential of beneficial information is hidden in.
