Abstract

The results of experimental investigation of upstream installation effects on metrological characteristics of the electromagnetic and turbine flow sensors of the nominal diameter DN50 are presented. The influence of inlet pipe diameter and influence of gasket diameter on accuracy of flow sensors were investigated. It was found that the most sensitive flow sensor on above mentioned flow disturbances are the turbine ones. The supplementary error caused by reduced inlet pipe diameter can increased up to 8% meanwhile reduction of gasket inner diameter increases supplementary error up to 25%. Investigated electromagnetic flow sensors are less sensitive to flow disturbances and supplementary error in the worse case was not more than ± 2,0%.
