The Estimation of the Influence of Current Earth Surface Movements on the Levelling Networks

Rūta Puzienė

Abstract

Horizontal and vertical movements are a typical feature of the Earth surface. The spatial location of geodesic marks constantly changes because of the Earth surface movement. The exactness of geodesic networks decreases as geodesic marks’ location changes in the course of time. The vertical movement of the Earth surface influences the alternation of the exactness of levelling networks. It is suggested to apply gradient plans of vertical Earth surface movement speed in order to evaluate the influence of the present vertical Earth surface movement upon the alternation of the exactness of levelling networks during the course of time. This work presents the methodology of creating and applying vertical movement speed gradient plans in order to evaluate the influence of the Earth surface movement while exploiting levelling networks. The evaluation of vertical Earth surface movement influence while exploiting Lithuanian levelling networks has been carried out.
