Abstract

This article presents results of the modelling of temperature regimes of railway construction layers in application of the SV HEAT software. To get modelling results, were used coldest winter results during 50 years. Temperature changes in railway construction layers were modelled pursuant to the data of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service of March 1986–November 1987 in Vilnius region and the conducted field experimental studies. Ambient air temperature, moisture content in layers were assessed. Physical – mechanical and thermodynamic properties of the materials used to install railway construction layers were identified in the laboratory. Moisture content and temperature in construction layers were measured using sensors installed in the experimental field stand (DRETM II) set up in Slovakia. According to experimental stand results and ambient air temperature data, were modelled temperature dynamics in railway construction layers. Modelling results have shown that using Slovakia national projecting and assessment documents, Lithuania railways construction protective layer should be projected thicker. Using ambient air temperature of coldest winter during 50 years results, got frost depth was 2 m, all railway construction layers frosted.
